Building home linux render cluster

I installed the Flock 2.0 beta a few days ago, and really like it; it is basically Firefox 3 pumped up to organise in a simple way all your friends on different social networks, your email, blogs, RSS feeds, videos and pictures uploaded by your friends.
my favourite features:

• seeing all the status updates from friends on twitter and facebook in 1 timeline
• seeing, chronologically again who has uploaded new pictures and videos, and have them displayed in a sidebar
• one toolbar with all my friends, and shortcuts to email them, post on their wall, etc…
• ability to post to my blog from within the browser
• great RSS reader

there are still some features missing, such as integration with google apps, myspace, and other features, but it seems as though they move forward quite quickly, so let’s see what else they will come up with.

I did the unthinkable and installed vista on my laptop, after nearly a year running Fedora Linux. Slower, annoying and with some strange bugs and security issues, BUT without wireless issues; Fedora kept causing problems when upgrading, and when making networking changes, so that i had to take the sad decision to go back to Windows …
Maybe now that Dell has started selling Linux PCs the wi-fi support may improve; and my nextg laptop will definitely have a wifi card that will be compatible with linux. until then, i’ll have to do some more beta testing for Vista…
